DESIGNING FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Role: Design Lead, Project Management

Cllient: Ankrom Moisan Architects

By utilizing InDesign and In5, we were able to create an interactive PDF for external client meetings that bridged the gap between a website and a PDF. While maintaining brand standards, we built a unique and one of a kind deck that kept Ankrom Moisan’s architects and interior designers introduction-ready for any occasion.

DESIGNING FOR PORTLAND

Role: Design Lead, Environmental Graphics, Client Relations

Client: Swagelok NW

Balancing Swagelok’s existing brand with the regional look and feel of the Pacific Northwest, new signs and graphics were developed for both the interior and exterior of their new Milwaukie location.

The signs on the exterior of the building itself embrace a Brutalist design, utilizing slab lettering and wrapping around the corner of the building to establish an impressive visual weight and presence. The text is lifted four inches to give it more dimension, a consideration that is emphasized in the sun when the sign’s shadow makes it appear even bolder.

As the first visual seen as someone enters the space, a logo sign mirrors the exterior signage, this time using chrome finishes, LEDs, and the sign’s distance from the wall to play with light instead of shadow. Maintaining the sophisticated atmosphere that was brought over from other Swagelok offices, elements of the Pacific Northwest’s outdoorsy aesthetic are added to the space through wall graphics that show the course of the Columbia River in Swagelok’s signature blue, linking the brand with the region in a very subtle, yet harmonious and professional, way.

Growing Expertise

  • What started as a creative outlet resulted in a career to inspire through mentorship and continued learning.

  • While I enjoy working within established brand guidelines, my true passion lies in building brands from scratch. By transforming client stories, missions, and visions into unique creative directions, I deliver highly effective branding. For me, the collaborative experience is just as rewarding as the final result, driving my continued professional growth.

  • I bring more than just creative talent, I bring a proactive, process driven mindset. With years of experience leading design initiatives from concept to delivery, I excel at organizing chaotic workflows, facilitating team collaboration, and managing stakeholder communication. Versed in Notion and Monday.com I enjoy turning concepts into concrete outcomes. By working backwards my goal is to make the creative process seamless, efficient, and successful.

  • As a Mexican American immigrant, I believe my innate empathy guides me to create impactful, human-centric designs that resonate on a deeper level. This emotional intelligence, combined with my technical expertise, allows me to bridge the gap between creative ambition and practical results. I believe with the rapid growth of AI, a successful senior designer must possess adaptability, profound empathy, and a growth mindset to symbiotically work alongside future technology.

Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, putting down roots in Portland, Oregon.
